FOD’s Fundraising
FOD's stands for 'Friends of Dewhurst', this is a registered charity that was set up to provide financial assistance to the school, providing resources that are not within the school budget or funded by the government. Every parent/carer of a child that attends Dewhurst St Mary is automatically a member of FODs.
FODs aims to organise as many fun activities for the pupils throughout the school year, including non-uniform days and discos. Any suggestions for new events are always welcomed. We appreciate that everybody has responsibilities with careers and families. However, any time that can be spared to help is greatly appreciated. Without the support of all members the children could lose their special events provided by FODs.
There are regular meetings held at the school to welcome new ideas and input from everybody, usually lasting for 20-30 minutes, children are welcome to join us. We have our annual AGM in the first half term each academic year where all parents are invited along to share ideas and vote on roles for the forthcoming year.
